Sitebuilder allows you to build a website easily and quickly, to which you can then add more pages (not built with SiteBuilder), simply through Ftp protocol.

Obviously the opposite is also possible, in other words add pages you have built with SiteBuilder to an existing website.

In this case you need to remember that when publishing pages built with SiteBuilder, those with different names to the existing pages will be added to what is already online, while pages with identical names will be overwritten by the new pages.

In any case, before you use SiteBuilder, we suggest that you read the simple  instructions, summarised in the following Steps.

Step 1 -  Create the Home Page

With Sitebuilder you need to create a home page, which the system identifies as the ‘index.htm’ page, which will then be set as the Home page of the website online.
For example: in the Sitebuilder control panel you create one single page called ‘test’, after making sure that in the web space there are NO pages called ‘test.htm’ and ‘INDEX.HTM’, as such pages would be overwritten with those created with Sitebuilder. Should there be said pages, we suggest that you make a copy and put them in your pc, BEFORE YOU PUBLISH WITH SITEBUILDER, so you don’t lose them.

After editing such page, you publish it online, on your existing website. The ‘test’ page in the web space will be called ‘index.htm’ and at that point, will be identified by the system as a potential home page, since it is named according to the naming rules, which differ depending on the type of domain hosting, Linux hosting and Windows hosting.

Based on the name of the home page already on the website online, the ‘test’ page created with Sitebuilder may be set as the Home Page.
Should this occur, to restore the previous home page simply access via FTP to your web space, rename the ‘index.htm’, in this specific case, to ‘test.htm’: at this point you will have the ‘test.htm’ page created with  Sitebuilder, which you can then link as you like in the pages of your website. If you wish to restore the old home page (or rather the old ‘INDEX.HTM’ page) simply put back the backup of such page, previously found in your space (from a previous copy, or from the backup, if such service is active) in the web space (via FTP).
Should there be other pages in the Sitebuilder control panel, besides the ‘test’ page (for example ‘test2’ and ‘test3’) the abovementioned behaviour would only manifest itself for one of the created pages, the page interpreted by Sitebuilder as the main page, whereas the others would be named based on the name of the page, therefore, if you are sure that the web space does not contain files named in the same way, no  file will be overwritten.

Step 2 - Access the Domain Control Panel

Go to http://admin.aruba.it or http://admin.domainname.xxx and enter the login details of the domain in question.

Step 3 – Select the SiteBuilder icon.

Step 4 – Read the warning notice

Please bear in mind that if there is already content in the web space of the domain in question, by publishing the website built with SiteBuilder, the pages with different names to the existing ones will be added to what is already online, while the pages with identical names will be overwritten by the new pages.

Step 5 – Only in the case of DOUBLE Windows + Linux HOSTING!!!

In the case of DOUBLE WINDOWS+LINUX HOSTING, you can select the platform where to carry out the FTP publication (Windows or Linux) of the content created with SiteBuilder.

If you do not indicate a preference, by default the system will set the publication in the web space on which the domain WWW pointing destination was requested.

Obviously you can select and work on the other platform.

Please bear in mind that if there is already content in the selected web space, by publishing the website built with SiteBuilder, the pages with different names to the existing ones will be added to what is already online, while the pages with identical names will be overwritten by the new pages.

IMPORTANT! Once you have created the website with SiteBuilder, in order to view the contents online you must point the WWW from the ‘WWW Host Management’ section.
